It has been known for many years that smoking can kill, some idiot smokers pretend it isn't harmful. I know someone who is terminally ill due to the fact they have been a smoker since their youth. Their lungs are likely to pack up for good in the next month or so according to the medics who can do no more for them .

That's so sad, what a dreadful shame for them. And to think it was actually advertised as a good thing at one time! Probably what started them off.

Nobody is questioning the damage that smoking can do RJ, there are many life threatening things that people do that we don't agree with and wouldn't do ourselves, but we can't run the country to our preferences where would it end....?

Smoking is putting lives in danger so of course it should be clamped down upon, like any other dangerous activity that endangers other people as well as those doing it.

What like boy racers driving BMW's.....?
Or people using their phones while driving?
Or drinking alcohol to excess and making the town centres no go areas after dark..?

Yes those are crimes and strict penalties should be imposed.

I don't think Boy racers are doing anything illegal RJ, as long as they keep to the speed limits.....But how many of us do that.....
