Re: Find The Owner

You could always register your disgust at the driver by putting his details on this website:

As it's a minor scratch I have heard the company on the link below has a good reputation for repairing such damage. I will be getting a quote myself for the scratch on my vehicle's bumper:

So-called "smart" repairs are a good way to go.

The rear bumper on my brand new car (5 weeks old) was hit overnight. Insurance quote - £645 - either pay for it myself or claim, pay the excess and accept an increased premium. Smart repair - £125 - completed to perfection, including re-laquer, by a local specialist.

My six-year-old car was totally unmarked, until parking in a police station car park, of all places to get it scraped! I know the colour of the offending vehicle, white, and that it was a large SUV but that's all.

Was your car metallic by any chance? Mine is metallic black and I wondered if that would be any problem getting a company like 'Chips Away' to repair it? It's small scratch, about 1.5 to 2 inches long and just through the paint or it might have T-Cut out, so annoying!

Re: Find The Owner

You could contact your insurance company and log as an information only just in case the other driver claims against you
( it has been known) contact the police as it’s an offence to leave the scene of an accident without exchanging details, it’s possible the van driver didn’t know he’s hit your car, but as others have suggested, a smart repair would be the way to go..

Thanks for the link. I've just emailed them for an estimate to fix some scuffs on my nearside front bumper.

Got that.

However, it doesn't give us a name or address.
