I must say that I've laid thousands of square metres of block paving and never used a chemical sealant on any. Having now looked at some of the arguments for using sealants my opinion hasn't changed and seems not just an unneccesary expense, but also could be detrimental to future cleaning and maintenance. I don't have a drive way now but when I did, I never sealed the blocks. I just used one of those wire brush thingies on a stick which worked quite well. Having said that, if the blocks have been jet washed then perhaps a sealant would be a good idea. I jet washed the old paving slabs around my shed and they looked great but they go green really quickly now. I think jet washing removes the surface.Re: Sealing driveway lock blocks
