Yes, you can buy ready made Bleu Cheese Salad dressing, in a bottle BUT they don't compare to what you can easily make at home.
One of the things I like about green salad is that you have an almost infinite variety of ingredients: any type of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, minced onion, croutons, shredded carrots, chopped pepperoncini, hearts of palm, etc etc.
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup crumpled Bleu cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1 TBLSP fresh lemon juice
black pepper to taste
Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use. great stuff
Money saving tip. Gorgonzola is often much cheaper. No one will ever know the difference , except you.
This is going to sound really silly - but - I do not like blue cheese just to eat as cheese - however I love blue cheese salad dressing and this recipe sounds delicious, Bakerman! By the way - have you tried it in soup - it is brilliant!
