However, if we don't get a late frost early planting gives you an early crop of beans

As long as you have another batch of beans coming along as insurance to me planting early is worth it.

Yes, I guess that's another way of looking at it. No idea personally, as much as I have thought about it I haven't yet got to growing my own produce.
