Your gas comes from Russia, via the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. You buy it from Germany, who set your prices and these will include any tarrifs, taxes, duties, transport charges that Germany incurred by importing it from Russia.

Why do you find this so hard to understand ?

Try to think. Both germany and the netherlands (and perhaps belgium, france etc) want to buy something from a third party country. Who does all trade negotiating for its members?

But you don't have an FTA with Russia - in fact, you don't have any ratified or completed FTA's outside the single market.

It's because the EU is useless at trade negotiations.

Your in a world of pure fantasy, Solasch.

On one side your celebrating Germany fixing your gas prices while at the same time your own gas industry has gone down the toilet. I'm failing to see any benefit here .....

That would imply negotiations were finished and a gas deal would be covered by it.
Not having a fta doesn't prohibit that the EU performs negotiations on behalf of its members. Still haven't grasped one of the main principles of negotiating in the name of half a bn consumers? Boy, is you smart.

You have no FTA with Russia - it does not exist. After over 20-30 years you're now saying the EU is still negotiating CETA, MERCUSOR, Japan, Singapore etc ????

So you admit, the EU hasn't delivered any FTAs outside the single market and you claim the EU are good at negotiating trade deals ??

What a joke !

Germany will be importing gas and having to pay taxes, transit fees, duties etc on it - when you buy your gas from Germany at the price they tell you that you must pay, these taxes and fees will be passed on to you as part of the price.

It will be like that for at least 30 years

I hope you can afford German gas prices.

Today, an editorial in the*Sun*says: “We are relying on Russia, a hostile power, to heat our homes.”

The UK is, indeed, increasingly reliant on gas imports, because domestic production from the North Sea is drying up. However, the vast majority of imports come from Norway, the Netherlands and Qatar.

Many places like I said. We also have our own gas supply and are leading the world on green technologies.

So far your gas industry is no longer viable, your at the mercy of Russia and Germany, your fishing industry is about to collapse, China is moving in with its belt and road project and your still thinking the EU is a good idea.

Brilliant Solasch, just brilliant !

If anything, your quoting the dutch gas industry shrinking, just goes to show how your north sea project could dry up. Oops! It already is, so you are familiar to what will happen.
Britain is leading the world on nothing anymore. That's just history.
But if you listen to labour, you just may have a chance for new glory.
