The European Union's*Brexit*trade demands will not change under UK pressure, Michel Barnier's senior advisor has said. Stefaan de Rynck told an online conference that member states had again backed the "maximalist" negotiating mandate this week in discussions with Brussels' chief negotiator.
The EU is insisting the UK sign up to a slate of safeguards on product standards and human rights in exchange for access to its market - that Brussels calls the "level playing-field".

3. Department of Anthropology, studying the concept of ‘emptiness’ in relation to post-socialism villages and towns in the Latvian-Russian borderlands.

Of these, there is only 1 in my opinion that has merit and might have future applications in actually doing something for humankind, and that's no.2. Who actually cares about the sound of cities and the emptiness of the Latvian/Russian borders?

I read an interesting article by John Humphrys in today's DM. It seems today's Oxbridge is all about money grabbing and not teaching.
Just look at the list of recipients, not one brit working at oxford worthy of a research grant. Most brits taking their masters at oxford end up in the civil service. Any explanation as to why that is?

Indeed! That is the british definition of it. And exactly for that reason the EU wants you to sign up to fair play!

There is a nice episode of Yes! Minister on that subject. Dates from 1980. Like I often stated, change is not something for the british.
