Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)
I think they had a much better time of it back in the real old days, boy did they live to be great ages.
Today medical science predicts that in 100 years time most folks will live to be 100 and over, but just look at how old Noah was when he died all those years ago.
“Noah died 350 years after the flood, at the age of 950, the last of the extremely long-lived antediluvian Patriarchs. The maximum human lifespan, as depicted by the Bible, diminishes thereafter, from almost 1,000 years to the 120 years of Moses” Wiki.
According to that Noah would have been 600 when he entered the arc and if he started to built it when he was 20 it would have taken him 580 years to built, nearly as long as Spitty’s office.
Noah’s dad Lamech was 180, when Noah was born, a mere spring chicken,
“And Lamech was one hundred and eighty years old when he took Ashmua, the daughter of Elishaa the son of Enoch his uncle, and she conceived.” Wiki
I believe he was arrested for unlawful sex with a minor, Ashmua was only 118 at the time, the legal age then being 150.
