An interesting concept …

I wonder if this would be allowed to take off from public roads, especially if approaching a traffic hold-up? Slow down, give some space in front of the 'car', activate wings and take off!

Flying car completes test flight between airports

"A prototype flying car has completed a 35-minute flight between international airports in Nitra and Bratislava, Slovakia."

"The hybrid car-aircraft, AirCar, is equipped with a BMW engine and runs on regular petrol-pump fuel.

Its creator, Prof Stefan Klein, said it could fly about 1,000km (600 miles), at a height of 8,200ft (2,500m), and had clocked up 40 hours in the air so far.

It takes two minutes and 15 seconds to transform from car into aircraft."

Very sort of James Bond-ish! Imagine meeting that on the M6 on a Bank Holiday.

Clever technology though.

It's never going to take off is it....Just off the top of my head I can think of about 50 reasons why yer average bloke or woman is not going to be allowed to fly willy nilly over our towns and villages. Not to mention the cost and time needed to obtain a pilots licence, otherwise we would all have a cessna parked on the local airfield....

Remember the twin towers?

The thing that really will revolutionise travel will be levitating vehicles.

We've all seen them on sci fi films, and you can search youtube for quantum levitation at your leisure.

Nah
Never gonna catch on !!
The general population can hardly cope with driving cars ?
And now that electric cars are coming on stream a new method
of propulsion will be needed too!!
Maybe 5% of the population will be able to make use of one if
they are " lucky" !
Donkeyman! 👎👎
