I love Alium. When their flowering season is over you can harvest the heads, paint them gold or silver, and use them in displays with silk flowers - if you like that sort of thing.
I can't believe how quick they are growing...apparently the leaves come up first..I'm surprised the frost,when it arrives,doesn't turn them to mush...they must be very hardy,is all I can say.
Planted mine around that time.no sign of them luckily.
I think the rain hammered them down.
They are in a large tub,caricature,..yours will be popping up soon...I looked on gardeners world..they said it was perfectly fine..as other gardeners were asking the same question as me..far to early.i thought.
