Can somebody answer me this please?

How come twice over the last few days, I have got to the end of the puzzle, everything fits perfectly, but there are 7 or 8 empty spaces to be filled but no more puzzle parts?
How can that be? Does it ever happen to anyone else?

They are probably hidden under the partially completed puzzle. Try dragging the completed part to one side. That should reveal the missing bits. Let us know whether that solves the problem, Mupsy.
