Yes, of course I recall now that the broker said that would happen as there was no third-party insurer to claim from, unfortunately pheasants don't have insurance!

With that premium increase plus the Excess I had to pay out I still came out on the 'winning side' by about £210 I think it was so not a total loss.

All the more reason to have dash-cams at the front and back of your vehicles. Video proof to uphold your claim.
