There has always been a lot of criticism whenever he opens his mouth but banned probably not.

Songs like this were the early steps to different races accepting each other.... so I would love to meet the people who have declared that is is racist!
What annoys me most is that people get paid to come up with this sh*t.

Ironically, they didn't ban Melting Pot at the time, I guess the chinkee word wasn't considered offensive at the time. I remember it being used to describe chinese food/restaurant/take-away.
Remember the BBC banning this song.

Aunty Beeb had her knickers in a twist, but I didn't know that was ever banned.

I've just google it ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ned_by_the_BBC

How delightfully fascist we were.

Think they banned first because it mocked stutters.

I had no idea they banned that. Not once did I think it was mocking stutterers, I just saw it as the way he was singing. From now on though, I will always see it as stuttering thanks to the BBC.

Re: Melting pot banned

Thank you bbc for bringing this to my attention.

"Why don't you all fff ... fade away!"

But it sounds like something more than an innocent stutter to me, now you mention it.

It's not too late to ban it now.

Where's Ofcom when they're needed.
