Re: World on Fire

I'm watching too. I find it disturbing because it could easily happen again.

Don't usually like war series, but this one is different.

Re: World on Fire

Not keen - too many subtitles which I could not read as they removed them so quickly!

Re: World on Fire

I saw it advertised but thought l wouldn’t like it. I felt it would be too much doom and gloom.

So l gave it a swerve!

Re: World on Fire

Not bad. I think it jumped around a bit too much and was ever so slightly cliche, something to with the direction but will give it another go next week. I always judge a programme by how much I care about the characters at the end of the episode and at the end of that, I didn't really care too much.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. The special effects were excellent. Hope the rest is as good. Seems funny to think that American reporter was Jodie Foster and the soldier's mother was that lovely actress from that brilliant series called Mum? I think it was called something like that. She played the widowed wife with her hubbies best friend always in love with her.

Re: World on Fire

That's where I remember her from, SG - "Mum"! Didn't recognise JF though.
