Thanks art, yes, my back seems a little easier, stuff nowadays is not made to last, you should see the stuff we put in, new washers, dryers that have faults on them or don’t work, it’s quite common
Modern stuff relies on computer technology, not like old mechanical timers that rarely broke, our modern day society I’m afraid

Re: Dishwasher broken

The most expensive one I ever bought was a Bosch
It lasted a year
Motherboard had a glitch

The most recent was the cheapest and it's lasted twice as long as Bosch already

I'll never be sold down the "you get what you pay for" river again

Re: Dishwasher broken

Hi

No dishwasher now, so much cheaper and no hassle at all.

The tumble dryer is going as well.

A hanging rail with a small fan, much cheaper and no ironing.

Downsizing is great, so much more freedom and money.

The trouble is that they are no longer made in Germany as we are led to believe. They are often made in turkey, Italy, Spain and Poland.

Re: Dishwasher broken

I have had a dishwasher for 25 years or more. I have probably used one less than 10 times during that span.

I dislike leaving dishes in a holding pattern for two days for so. It's so much easier to fill the sink, use hot water, scrub them up nicely, then drain, dry and put away. It takes less time than the hour it takes for the dishwasher to run, then check for food particles, then rinse again, etc.

Even at holidays with the family, I still prefer to wash them by hand.

Re: Dishwasher broken

I've not used my dishwasher for months since it went wrong. It still washes fine but leaves clean water in the bottom when finished. The time it takes to scoop all the water out is longer than washing up by hand.
