Re: Ideal date

[QUOTE=Longdogs;1803477]Obviously it would depend on who I was on a date with. The date would be tailored to suit the lady in question as she would need to feel like the most important part of the whole evening. Ideally, a view of the universe from the London Planetarium followed by La Boheme at the Paris opera house and a candle -lit dinner on the Isle of capri.

And all that.......just so you can get your "afters"

Re: Ideal date

I don't have an ideal date....having a meal inside a shed wouldn't bother me...as long as I was with the man who loved me..and I him.

Re: Ideal date

A Steampunk event with a well groomed bearded gentleman. Followed by a trip in a dirigible over the Mendip hills...

Re: Ideal date

Difficult to be specific because it would depend on what my "date" liked but I would be thinking a decent meal in a nice place.

I like The GreyFriars joint, close to Colchester so not too far to go. They specialise in an English menu using only the best quality ingredients superbly cooked and very nicely presented.

For a long weekend this time of the year then probably somewhere special - Moscow!

The weather will be awful but the shops are great, lots of warm and welcoming cafes, and when we were there a few years ago we "found" a simply astounding hotel, the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy. Huge place, modern but in a good way and just plain nice.

(Being able to speak Russian obviously helps, but certainly is not essential!)

Re: Ideal date

I’d take my date on a trip on the North Yorkshire moors railway where we would board a steam train and have a lovely meal on the way to Whitby , then a walk barefoot on the beach, strolling along hand in hand...

Of course, if she preferred fish and chips, that would be fine too.
Anywhere but Paris - and you're on, Dongles!
