I have one ane it is brilliant. Raking can damage a lawn ,blowing leaves up doesn't. Also that can be done even though the grass is soggy ,walking on it causes more damage.
Why get one? well no hard work with a rake - no lawn damage- job done in a fraction of the time- easy to use- light weight and easy start.

hardest part is just picking the leaves up and we have these to make the job easier.

this is mine ,same machine different label. Had it for 4 years and only replaced the plastic fuel line inside

I am sure a neighbour would do it for you with one of these
Agree. You will wonder why you never got one sooner.

Re: and my next job is?????

I acknowledge a certain irony here but I have just said farewell to an overseas visitor. She is one of only two people that I have known in my life that actually, not only enjoy cleaning and tidying up but revels in it.

I am a very Darwinian gardener (if it survives it stays) but certainly I would have said there was not much in the way of leaves or mess on the property - my green waste bin normally only gets put out every few months. I was wrong, she has gone but her tidying lives on.

These photos do not include my 120 litre green bin which is full nor a pile of leafless branches in the front garden. The green bin only goes every fortnight so this will take months to clear.

To be fair most of this is clippings from my 4 metre tall Acmena Smithii Minor hedge (Lilly Pilly) which she felt I had allowed to over grow
