There are a few folks in the metaphorical tunnel at the moment, most notably Joe Biden, tunnel vision, who knows what will happen.

That's not what I'm seeing.

That's regarding new navy vessels; widely reported.

I'm wondering which we'll see first: who wins the Presidency of the USA or the conclusion of Brexit "negotiations".
My money's on seeing a new POTUS first.

Hi

Boris may well leave his decision until he knows who has won in the USA.

Trump wants a deal, Biden not fussed.

I've heard we will continue under the EU Directive for Defence Security and Procurement.

Nothing confirmed, but the rumours have been circulating.

Lets hope they are only rumours Bread ?
But its got me thinking ?
What will actually happen if Boris reneges on his brexit pledge??
What will WE do about it?
Its another three years before a new election?
The "deal" will have been signed ?
Status quo will be re-imposed by the eu !
What will we do??

He will be pushed out of office - the left will jump on any opportunity to get rid of Boris and there are enough Conservative Brexiteers to give him a vote of no confidence. Come the next election, it will be the Brexit Party and Nigel Farage.

I do wish you'd stop paying so much attention to media rubbish.

Any trade deal is reliant upon who needs what on both sides.
Trump is no more pro-UK than Biden is anti-.

That's ignoring Liz Truss who has also assured us that it makes no difference:
"We're working with both parties in the United States, both the Democrats and the Republicans. There is strong support for a trade deal with the UK,"
https://www.usnews.com/news/world/ar...ction-minister
Widely covered in other media too.

FYI we already trade more with the USA than with any other single country.
The talks re a TTP deal - much-advanced and more likely too following our Japan trade deal - would I'm sure provide much more scope for new business than a USA deal anyway.
