You can only laugh...
...when the evening news bulletin leads with a story about some country singer's gigs in Dublin being cancelled due to a cock-up and devotes more time to reporting that than any of the world events going on at the moment...Pardon my ignorance, but I'd never heard of Garth Brooks until now...

I'm sick of hearing about this all through the week Ania, who gives a damn about the big headed country and western singer Garth Brooks. Isn't this what the media call the silly season when they are hard up for news. I agree there are more important things happening in the world that deserve better attention.It seems Brooks wanted to play 5 concerts and was only given permission for 3, I thought that was fair enough as the noise is unbearable, I can hear it where I am. Brooks says it's 5 or none so it was none up til today when our leader intervenes to help get the 5 back on again. wouldn't you think after all the trouble the country has gone through he'd have more important things to put his mind to. It's sickening.
