Re: You're late

Hmm , difficult . I would have arrived just after 5pm , you definitely were far too late

Don't leave it too late to make amends or a friendship may well be lost .

Re: You're late

I'm afraid it would have been smacked paw's from me Cat Lady, but you were in a dilemma having no food in the house.. so your forgiven

I think if you had gone to theirs between 5pm - 5.15pm you would have been ok. And you could have found a late shop to call at on the way home

Re: You're late

It's a bit over the top to go out to avoid you when you said you were on the way round. Talk about teaching you a lesson Still if you want to go on being her friend an apology and an ivitation to a meal might save the day.

PS Who wants to eat at 5 o clock anyway?

Re: You're late

I don't like vague times either, would have text to ask what does after 5 mean as I would have worried I would be too early or too late.

Sounds odd when you did text to say on way to find that they had taken the meal to their sons.

Nowt so queer as folk.

Re: You're late

If someone was an hour and a half later than I expected I am afraid they wouldn't be very welcome unless they had a really good reason I would see that as them not wanting to see us.

I think as others have said an apology is needed if you want this friendship to continue.

Re: You're late

As far as I'm aware the British have always been strong on punctuality -perhaps not so much now? But there have been some interesting studies done on punctuality around the world - the Germans and Austrians won't give you a minute either way for example whilst in Aboriginal Australian culture you can be hours late probably African too. So know your own culture at least!!
