More help plz - burnt saucepan!

Ok, decided to try and coat my popcorn with some sugar as in cooking em in a saucepan. Oh they popped alright but by then the sugar had burnt to a disgusting rock hard structure coating the entire saucepan base. Had to throw everything out as it was a disgusting smelly mess and am left with a saucepan that needs a grinder to clean it as far as I can see. So, is there a way to remove the burnt sugar coating without resorting to excessive force?

Was it a gas hob? Gas doesn't seem to be your forte.

Take saucepan, and scrub under hot running water for an hour.

Carefully dry with Egyptian cotton tea towel.

Open bin and chuck said object into it.

Buy new saucepan,

Buy ready made popcorn.

Sorted

Re: More help plz - burnt saucepan!

Well I dunno about that video but I will give it a try. My own saucepan looks like it has a new black ceramic base which has the consistancy of concrete, whereas that vid had a nicely baked sugar coating that was quite attractive and probably not that hard.

Will try the hot water + salt + washing powder method as I don't have any rhubarb.

The guilty oven is an electric one so I might electrocute myself but not blow the house up Janela .
