Re: Will UK collapse before Brexit?

According to the doom mongers there won,t be many of us left if we leave with a no deal.
It,s going to be a very profitable time for funeral directors as, according to the doomsters, there will be such a shortage of life saving medication that we will be dropping like flies.
This will another problem, Air pollution. There will, be so much smoke coming from crematoriums that we be under a continuous blanket of smog.
Morbid sod aren,t I.

Not career politicians know nothing about living in the real world where we don't all have the best of everything. People who have to live on benefit or low wages before they can make decisions on those things.
We also really urgently need a Betty Booth type speaker who no matter what their opinions are fair and keep order with no favours.
You put it so much better than I could. Thank you.

How will it be a bigger disaster than the one we faced during WW2. Millions of tons of vital supplies being sent to the bottom of the ocean by Hitler,s U-Boats Nothing whatsoever coming from Europe as the whole continent was in enemy hands. We knuckled down and made do so we can and will do the same again if this theoretic disaster should ever materialise.
IMO MPs are more interested in how it will effect them personally and have no feelings for their constituents whatsoever.
Rant over!! Have a nice day.
I agree completely. However, in WWll the USA had a POTUS we could trust.

Roosavelt made us pay later CHF!
He did help us no doubt, but he delayed helping untill we
were weakened, and only really committed to our cause once
Japan attacked Pearl Harbour!
After the war won, and a socialist government was elected
in UK he then demanded his money back, due to his fears
of communism, without much time to pay! Whilst at the same
time funding the so called German Miracle and supporting
his ex enemies!
So l set no store by talk of special relationships etc, its all
in the imaginations of a certain class of uk politicians?
However, apart from that, l agree with you!

I agree but Roosevelt was heading an isolationist government, but he helped in what ever way he could. Of course we were expected to pay it back. The US was the only country to come out of the war in profit. I think the special relationship has always been pie in the sky. However, we did get vital help when needed, even before 1942 when the Japs decided the US was fair game and forced them into the war.

Re: Will UK collapse before Brexit?

As a matter of interest over 2,000 ships were lost to U-Boat attacks during WW2 sending over 14 million tons of vital supplies to the bottom of the ocean All in all almost 70% of supplies from the US to Britain was lost this way. Yet still we survived and will do so again in spite of the pessimism been put around by the remoaners and their parliamentary allies.

Some might but I know a few watch that programme where they drain the water (can't remember what it's called ) and find all sorts of ships. It's eye opening and one thing I hear more than anything else is the waste of life and how those poor people died. They aren't all unfeeling unwilling to learn and understand.

I was five in 1939, it's surprising how much one realizes, even from that age.
