Re: Do tv adverts drive you mad?

Thats an interesting point you've made Anji, but how much is enough.

It's a bit like when an elderly person dies and people say " He was 86 so it's ok" Is 86 enough but 39 not enough
Whadya think>?

Abraham Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs is a useful and simple model to explain what can be quite difficult to pin down. It has been expanded in more recent times.

Thankyou Areolor . Can't add much to that.
I suppose, that said, everyone's experience of life is different.

Couldn't agree more, Anji...if we have enough to continue our current life-style, (and perhap's, in time, increase it a tad?), why hunger for more?.

The words of my favourite (late) Uncle often surface when I get tempted to over-stretch meself...'pay for what you can afford to pay for...paying more than you have will only lead to grief!'.

Profound wisdom indeed, eh?.

Re: Do tv adverts drive you mad?

The one that really does my head in, is that screaming Italian shouting the odds (literally), on that Ladbrokes advert. I can never get to my mute button quick enough.Nearly as bad on the same theme, is the creepy Ray Winstone invitation to chuck your money away on senseless gambling.

John, you mentioned RAY WINSTONE's voice.

I have a habit of ,instead of watching adverts, listening to them to try and identify the owner of the voice-over .

They're all at it.
