It is scary....I was in an earth quake once in Kefalonia ...never going back there. It must be doubly scary if it's in your own home.

Cheddar is buzzing with reports of seismic activity.
I told the doctor the medicine she gave me for flatulence wasn't strong enough!

Not sure I want to go to Festive Night up the Gorge this evening in case any rocks are a bit loose!

Small earthquakes are not unusual, apparently, we get a few hundred recorded on instruments every year but don't notice many.
The strongest earthquake I can remember was when I was at school in Derbyshire in the 50's .There was quite a bit of structural damage .

Frightening for those affected but, fortunately, no mention of any injuries,

And at least this one can't be blamed on fracking.

They are scary, Silver Tabby. We had one here a while ago, epicentre was in South Wales, but my sun lounge shook & a lot of people here felt it.

Re: Earthquake - in Somerset.

Yes, earthquakes are scary stuff.

I remember about 10 years ago I had fallen asleep on my sofa and was woken up at around 1am by a very eerie rumble sound and a feeling that I can only describe as literally my house being a 'jelly on a plate.' It felt like all the bricks were shaking. It didn't last long but I remember feeling so shocked and realising I had just felt an earthquake in Yorkshire!

I shouted upstairs to my husband, "John, we've just had an earthquake" and he was half asleep and just mumbled something.

I turned on the news in the morning and there it was on the news. I really had felt an earthquake. Unbelievable. I would hate to live in a place where they have them a lot, especially big ones, wow, that would be frightening.
Hopefully no one was hurt in this one in Somerset.

One as to wonder if the BP gas drilling plant in Somerset as anything to do with the rise in quakes in the area's.
