War Of The Worlds..again

Is anyone else watching this? It's on Fox. Gabriel Byrne is the lead actor this time. Gripping stuff!

I saw it was on and thought it was the same one as on BBC. Is it?
If not, is it set in England?

Starring Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern, this latest adaptation is less interested on the alien attackers and focuses instead on the ordinary civilian survivors, who find themselves in a new world where they must work together to survive.

The series questions human behaviour under the most extreme pressure and delivers a cinematic explosion of mystery, love and aliens.
Not another version with "love interest" .....

Then there's a sub-plot:

One of the more intriguing characters is Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Emily Gresham, whose Stargardt disease - a retinal disorder - which limits her vision.

"She has a strange relationship with the world because she has to navigate things in a way that other people don’t," explains Edgar-Jones.

"As the story goes along, she has a strange relationship with aliens, which she can’t really explain and she is very confused and scared, but it also feels strangely right. The way she feels towards them is quite caring and strangely motherly, I feel."

Yes, I agree, never did like the American remakes anyway. Listen & watch Jeff Waynes WOTW instead, it's more believabl

I've got the original LP, the cd's of both versions.

Unless they can stick to the original story they should use a different title.

I have both the album & the CD also. Can't play the record, but listen to the CD regularly.
They certainly should call any remakes not using the proper story something else.
