Looking at video signals in televisions sometimes but mostly used on video recorders. For instance: A good video FM envelope (and therefore a good picture) depended on the tape guides being adjusted accurately. The guides ensured that the tape was transported around video head in precisely the right place. A scope looking at the output from the video heads would show when the adjustments were correct. Lots of other uses too, such as looking for pulses being present etc. when fault-finding.

I still have the scope. It's up in the loft now. I suppose it could be used as a door-stop.

I still have mine and the 2kV probes. It's a Tektronix TDS220 digital storage scope. I sued it mainly for power electronics checking for power quality. The USB port allowed me to dump wave forms on to my PC for Fourier Series analysis.

Sorry mods for wandering off topic.

An invaluable tool for some jobs Besoeker. Anyway, to the photos. The one below is a favourite because it was taken on a very cold day just before Christmas while out on a bike ride with a friend who has since died.

That's the Basingtoke Canal Besoeker. It runs through Surrey and Hampshire. The 'Rosie & Jim' decorated barge was seen on the Hampshire stretch.

Re: Favourite Snaps

This was in my next door neighbours garden, back down in London. This was mid afternoon and this fox used to regularly just come and relax under the tree. It didn't seem to mind me going out to talk to it, which I frequently did, as long as I didn't get too close.
