Well according to the book I read there wasn't a lot to it . There is the kind of romantic notion where the girls cater for all sorts of stuff but the majority of 'methods' required by the lower end of the market is mainly giving 'relief' I suppose. 'Wham bam thank you mam'. Sordid and thankless. Get paid by the number of condoms used kind of thing. Nasty business if you ask me. It also takes it's toll on girls - women - mentally and physically. Awful book and it made me feel dirty reading it and after. Made me ashamed to be a man really. One of those books that you wished you had never read but couldn't stop reading once you had started.

It was this book I think: Slave Girl

Re: Visa for sex workers?

MKJ - I could never read that book - I'd be up on my feminist horse quicker than anyone could blink. I detest the sex trade but I accepted a long time ago that it exists and there are those (females included) that enjoy working in that area. I used to belong to another fourm that was used by a fair few Dutch men who couldn't see what the problem was and, invevitably, I was called a prude and much worse. Then, along came a chap who used to work in the porn industry as an actor and he spelt out some of the techniques used to create certain effects and all of them involved the degrading, humiliation and ill-treatment of the women (many were drugged to the eyes to get them to co-operate - filthy business). Those that choose to, I suppose it's their opinion but it worries me that what men see on those films will believe that most women would be happy with that.

You shouldn't feel badly about being a man because of it any more than women should feel badly that there are women who are happy to be prostitutes; it's just the way it is.
