Pheasant in my garden

Just seen a small male pheasant in my garden .
It’s heaving with rain and blowing a gale.
It’s looked hungry and wasn’t finding anything ( everything had been blown away ) so went with bird food and called it.
To my surprise it rushed straight over and is now tucking into a good feed .
Poor things they are just like chickens being hand reared .
I hope it stays .

Can't have you feeding stray males.

I remember you had one before that used to visit didn't you.
I hope the poor thing survives this shooting season.

Yes, it's pretty grim here as well.

Maybe he will pop back and see you again tomorrow.

Re: Pheasant in my garden

I am so glad you ignored Besoekers remark, Mups & Muddy.

That was lovely of you to go out & in the rain & wind to feed the pheasant, Muddy.
He'll probably come back knowing you have food for him, maybe bring all his mates too..

I added a smiley too, to my post. Actually I really don't like eating pheasant, I prefer venison.
