Snakes don't easily starve. In fact, it's the same for quite a lot of other species.

My dog on the other hand........

Re: Escaped Animals

Once every few years I hear about a dog that was lost while it's owners had taken it on vacation with them. 2 or 3 months later, or so the stories go, the dog turned up at home after traveling hundreds of miles.

I've heard those too, but the happiest, seen on a TV program, was about a dog brought in & they checked it's chip & it had been lost/stolen for 6 years & it was still registered with it's original owners, the joy of the dog on seeing them again & the owners seeing it, made me cry.

Apparently dogs can survive for about six weeks according to our vet.

I would be very dubious about that, Besoeker.

I think other factors would have to be considered too. e.g. The dog's age, size, and the health of the dog to start with, let alone whether he had a water supply or not.

A puppy would be long dead, so would an elderly dog.

Just what our vet claimed.
We use one can a day. He is a big dog - almost kg.
40kg
My mistake.
