Number Theory.

Think of any whole number- if it's even divide it by 2 but if it's odd multiply by 3 and add 1. Continue doing this and you will always finish up with 1.

Re: Number Theory.

Eh?
9 x 3 = 27 + 1 = 28 ...... of course it will, cos it will be an even number & get to 2 then 1
I could be wrong, I'm a bit number-lexic!

Re: Number Theory.

OK Twizard, you got to 28 so......28/2 = 14..........14/2=7.............7times 3= 21+1= 22............22/2=11..........11times3=33+1=34 and so on.
