Anyone want a dog?

"Very loving and sweet tempered, 10 month old Bedlington female. Exceptionally good home only".

That's approximately what my advert will say if this dog gets through my 'Nellie proofed' strawberries again!

Gawd knows how many she's pinched this afternoon, even the green ones are scattered round the lawn. They are all netted in but it seems she's got her snout under the bottom of the netting and lifted it up.

Ingenious little wretch isn't she.

I was just thinking the same thing when I found that Bennie had buried and then dug up his bone from my veg patch, scattering young cauliflowers and infant onions…

You love her really, though...

Your post made me smile Mups . It reminded me of our Cindy when she used to dig things up and her nose was covered with muck whilst she tried to look innocent . Happy days, and I miss her and Mandy so much.

Then I know where to send her then.
She'd be company for you Nom, and keep you young. Just think of all the places you could take her and things you could teach her. Just make sure you nail everything down first.

Re: Anyone want a dog?

Little horror's been at it again this morning, inspite of extra barricades I put up last night. I caught her red handed (or red-pawed), with her head under the netting, raiding my plants again, so I crept up behind her and tapped her on the bum. She jumped about 10ft in the air and scarpered.
She forgets so quickly though, and half hour later, was investigating perilously close again. This time I called her and she left them alone straightaway, so she was was heartily rewarded.
She does love her food and rewards, but she's equally happy with just a big cuddle, because she's a very 'touchy feely' little dog and adores bodily contact. It makes her go all glassy-eyed and gentle when stroked or cuddled and she falls asleep altogether when groomed. I moan about her, but she's an absolute joy really.

Nellie sounds a wonderful bundle of "naughtiness", I'm sure she ensures you never have a dull moment. When we first our tiny Pomeranian, Gem, Mr Clumsy was planting daffodils round the edge of the lawn and following behind him was little Gem taking out all the bulbs Mr Clumsy put in. You really can't be cross with them can you?

How lovely. Says it all. Maybe she deserves the strawberries...
