Who do I mean? Well Brucie of course. Did he jump or was he pushed? Well of course he jumped, he says he jumped, but have a sneaky suspicion there may have been a slight element of pushing going on there. Someone somewhere must have been keeping track of all the adverse comments on various sites and noticed which way the wind was blowing, realised he may not be as popular now as was at first believed.
He apparently said he disliked being referred to as a national treasure because it implied he should be buried. Anyhow he managed to hang around and remain in the public view long enough to get the knighthood he has been holding out for.
He isn't gone for good he will be back for holiday specials etc. I actually think people have been a bit unkind to him, I wonder how much was jealousy a man of his age still had a prestigious job.
He did a grand job, especially for a man of his age .....
I doubt he was pushed, he had been having some time off past couple of years, so I think he is just ready to call it a day ....
I'd be happy never to see him on tv again! He's well past his sell by date, can barely read the autocue, stutters and stammers,
There was a documentary about him a couple of years ago, he's a control freak, everything has to be in order, even his breakfast on the plate had to be arranged just so.

And that has kept him at the top for a long time. As for breakfast perhaps he has a touch of aspergers many people do just don't realise it.
