Re: Fat children

Yes Julie, I agree. It's all very sad. What a stigma will be attached to these poor children. Their life will be made a misery at school, I bet. Bad parenting definitely.

Re: Fat children

Easy option to give in with sweets and other rubbish. Good eating starts early on and should be a pattern for life - as does the other kind, clearly shown here - a form of abuse and neglect.
Parents need a sharp talking to before the rot sets in but in these PC days it aint gonna happen...

My two boys, Eat properly and do excercise.
Eldest doesn't like the school bus so walks to schol and back every day. Total of 5 and a half miles. They are restricted on their access to TV games, X Box etc.
They are both fit and healthy, Work hard to stay fit, it helps later on.

Re: Fat children

Yes ours have all been fit young things despite us both being fat possibly because we are we made it important they were not.

Just looking at size of some kids meals worries me I couldn't eat as much as some 5 year olds are given !

Re: Fat children

I think some people just kill their children with kindness and give them what they want to eat. Unfortunately some children end up piling on the pounds with little or no exercise. I just really feel for the children.

Re: Fat children

I get annoyed when I see pictures of overweight children, it's not their fault and they should be protected. Personally I think it’s a shame that any parent could sit by and watch their child expanding in front of their eyes day after day and at the same time say they love them, it’s something I could never figure out, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind and insist they don't eat junk. God help the poor kids having weight problems at such a young age when they should be out enjoying their childhood without any worries, I really do feel for them.

Re: Fat children

I can't understand how children get like that why don't their parents see what is it happening and do something about it before they get to that stage..

Re: Fat children

It's just lazy parenting it's far easier to give children what they want than have the hassle of arguing with them . It's really very sad that the parents can't see the harm they are doing .
