Yes despite there being other pools they used the one that if reports are to be believed wasn't heated . A strange thing to do in December .

Re: pool tragedy in Costa Del Sol

Even if all three were non swimmers, which the mother says is untrue, it is very suspicious for three, two adult size, to drown in such a small, relatively shallow, pool.
Everything points to some malfunction which is being covered up.
That poor mother and daughter, one can only imagine their grief.

Possibly a "perfect storm" of a number of factors all coming together at once.

I can’t think what they were doing in the pool at all .
It’s cold there at this time of the year .
I have horrible feelings about the pump sucking them under.

LQ, I did think about starting a thread on this, but I admit that every time I started, all I could think of was that poor, poor mother standing at the poolside watching her husband and two children drowning in front of her, and I just couldn't do it. It was just too upsetting. Even now I cannot bear to think about it.

It was reported as being 6 foot deep at one point.

Such an awful tragedy, my heart goes out to the distraught mother losing her husband and two children.

Just "Google" Cold Water Shock.

It was an unheated pool and the water would have been really bloody cold.

Much colder than the sea temperature even.

Let's hope a root cause analysis takes place and not just a "no fault found" investigation.

The Spanish police were saying it was a tragic accident ,case closed .However two witnesses from the UK have been found and the police are willing to talk to them .
