Re: Osborne warns of further public spending cuts

Hi

We are still living in La La Land, spending vast amounts more than we earn.

More austerity and more tax is the answer, we cannot keep piling up the debt for our kids to pay off.

More tax seems the way for everyone to contribute and share the burden, rather than those least able, usually through no fault of their own. Cutting elderly social care not only seems vindictive it seems pennywise and pound foolish when folk who only need but a little assistance end up in hospital for the lack of it.

Re: Osborne warns of further public spending cuts

Hi

We were talking about this this morning, a group of oldies in the coffee shop.

One of the group said her kids said we should cut Old Age Pensions as we, the Oldies, had not paid enough in and they, the young ones, should not have to subsidise us.

We could wipe out the deficit and balance the books with a 50% cut in State Pensions apparently.

Her son is an accountant so she says, so knows his stuff.

She was deadly serious.

She is also loaded, her Pension money is loose change to her.

Inter- generational niggle ( or worse) is yet another consequence of the apparent crusade to roll back public spending to the dark ages.

But I see the MPs are getting another pay rise above inflation again.

I've said it before .. and I'll say it again.

If the books aren't balancing, as they clearly aren't ... close the doors to migrants and refugees, and stop sending them billions in aid.
We can't afford it.

Hmm ... does anyone know whose taxes and contributions funded schools and the health care system that paid for the upbringing of these budding little Britain's?
