Re: Saturday Dinner.

I agree with you Foxy. Dinner is eaten at dinner time, not in the evening, that's tea time. I used to know all these things until Mrs LD knocked it out of me with her posh ways..... I mean, what is tiffin FFS?

According to the Oxford English dictionary:

1) Indian dated. A snack or light meal.
‘tiffin has been ready for some time’

2) British. A cake or dessert made with crushed biscuits, golden syrup, and chocolate,
and chilled in a fridge.
‘the tiffin was a decadent chocolatey treat’

Very posh LD. I couldn't find the meaning of 'FFS?' though!

That's the wet tea not the dry tea.

Re: Saturday Dinner.

Dinner for me is in the evenings, tea is earlier & lunch is lunch at 12.30 midday. I have the main meal at around 5.30 p.m.

Re: Saturday Dinner.

Dinner used to be any time between breakfast and tea - lunch didn't even come into it.

Yes, LD, I always wear my "dinner jacket" for the 12 o clock meal!

Re: Saturday Dinner.

I used to work a three shift system. Breakfast, dinner, and tea times all depended on what shift I was working.

At one time, breakfast at 8pm, lunch at midnight, and tea at 2pm was quite common for me.

Re: Saturday Dinner.

Dinner is dinnertime around 1pm, not teatime, lunch is for posh folk although I have been known to lench or even brench (thats me talking posh)

Won't be nowt wrong with your bowels with all those healthy veggies Foxy lol.

I didn't bother with dinner today, I just had peaches, banana, sugar free jelly, topped with yoghurt, a few almonds and a drizzle of honey, I had a chicken salad for my tea which consisted of Spinach, cucumber, cherry tomatoes (I love the different coloured cherry toms from Tesco, red and green sliced peppers, onions, grate carrot, I threw in some nuts and then i added all my usual herbs and spices I like to put in with some mayonnaise.

It's been cold food all day but I am going to have some chick pea curry later after I've had a glass of wine or two
