Here's one for you to do daily

Went to a talk on preventing FALLS the other day, given by a senior physiotherapist, she knew her stuff alright!

Anyway, we all had a range of easy exercises to do daily, I'll post a picture tomorrow...

But the one she said was the most important one of all...

Sit up straight on a chair, feet flat on the floor and hands crossed over your chest, stand up and sit down as many times as you can in 30 seconds.

I can manage 25...

25! That sounds a lot .. but my kind of exercise. I'll give it a go tomorrow when I'm awake.

We do that one at my Monday exercises ruthio, as you say, it is good.
Our chap tells us just to make sure you feel the chair touching the back of your knees before you sit down though, just incase it's moved!

Shhhhhh, I'll tell you a secret, promise not to tell anyone...if you sit on the end of the bed, it's much easier!!!!

My bed is a lot higher than a chair so it should be a lot easier .... and cheating I suspect

Nice advice and I guess it's good for leg strength, but how will it teach you to prevent falls?
Off a chair? Not too sure about the chair-based exercise when a fall normally happens whilst walking?

Is it good for strengthening knees?
My shock absorbers and suspension aren't so good in my knees anymore.
