Ear problem

As you know I was in Hospital a week ago with Facial and Ear problems, after the ENT Team had been prodding my Ear around and having a Vacuum Cleaner in my ears and spending 3 days in Hospital with Steriods, I was eventually sent home, but since I have been Home I now have this Bleeping noise in my left ear, its not a ringing sound like Tinitus but if you can imagine a Lorry reversing into a Lane, he puts his warning indicators on that bleeps, that's exactly what it sounds like.

Has everyone else had this problem or what do you think it might be?

Re: Ear problem

Hi Susie

Logically speaking, if there is a regular intermittent sound or perception of sound then I would have to assume it is the result of your pulse. So maybe you have a blood vessel inflamed and/or pressing on a part of your inner ear.

Re: Ear problem

I didn't know you'd been unwell Susie, sorry to hear that petal.

As for the bleeping noise in your ear, I don't know TBH.
Can you phone the ENT dept and ask them? Mind, it's w/end now so it probably will be closed till Monday.
Sounds like you're not going to have any peace.

(On a lighter note, be worried if you get the voice saying 'this lorry is reversing' ) Sorry, couldn't resist.

Oh Susie, that sounds really unpleasant, you must be so fed up. I don't know what it is but I do hope it clears up soon. How annoying

Re: Ear problem

Hi Realist, i'm thinking that the ENT Doctors might have done something by keeping prodding my Ear all the time.

Pesta, I have got a follow up appointment with the Hospital in a couple of weeks time, so will mention it then, it doesn't hurt its just annoying.

And yes be careful i'm reversing. lol

Re: Ear problem

That does seem odd Susie.

It is spasmodic or continual?

They haven't left the tip of a probe or something down your ear I hope?

I think it it continues, I wouldn't wait a fortnight to ring them - just ask.

Hope it all clears up soon for you.

Re: Ear problem

Never had that Susie, it sounds like a build-up of fluid in the inner ear.
They use grommets sometimes to help.

Re: Ear problem

It goes on for about 3 mins. then stops for 5 mins. then comes back again, all day and night, but only one ear.

I think you should give them a quick ring Susie.
