Thanks for saying, have fun.

Daughter gave me a Hedwig Lego set for Christmas, goodness knows when I'll get to make it though, it looks real complicated.

Very complicated, I hate making Lego. I will probably give it back & say make it for me. It'll keep her busy & she loves making Lego sets.

Beautiful Tabby. I like the falling leaves.

I hope you'll show us when you've done something with them.

Do you have any ideas?

Not yet, Carol, still waiting for inspiration. I believe tea and toast may help.

They look lovely. They are very talented.

Does it count as one of the "Black Arts"? (Plastering, artexing, rendering, bricklaying, illusion painting etcetera.)

How do you actually make them?

(There's the Enginerd in me coming out; wanting to understand the process, the machines/people that make machines/things).

Take 1 x sheet of Aluminium

Choose a suitable embossing folder

Cut Aluminium to fit. Best thing to use is a very sharp surgical scalpel. Craft knives can pull and leave a jagged edge.

Run through a die-cutting machine - an electric one if possible. You could use a hand cranked one but the roller pressure is not so strong - you would have to run it through more than once and risk marking the Aluminium.

All I have to do now is think of a way to use these panels!

Thanks for the explanation. I think I can work out the process. I've never heard of an embossing folder before but I imagine it has a raised pattern, possibly male and female, and the metal sheets are pressed/rolled/stamped in between them to transfer the raised pattern.
A bit like laying pattern imprinted concrete, but with more precision.

Exactly so, Fruitcake.
