Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I've just been reading about the Famine and how it led to so many Irish moving to America, very sad, nasty piece of British history.
You can learn quite a bit from those things that pop up on newsfeeds on certain days!

There was also a programme on last night about the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin. Certainly filled in some gaps in my knowledge. Another very nasty bit of British history.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from a daughter of Erin's green and fair isle! (Mullingar, Westmeath originally, moved from the country at the age of 8).

Re: St Patricks Day

Anyone know why March 17th was chosen to celebrate the day?
