Re: Gina Millers Latest Stunt

Hi

Think about it folks.

Parliament is our only defence against the Executive.

It sets a huge precedence.

If Brexit goes wrong and we get Corbyn in, we will have a Marxist State with nothing Parliament can do about it.

We will no longer be a democracy, we will be a Dictatorship.

Parliament must be independent of the Executive.

Some of you criticise Bercow as Speaker.

I do not.

He let Parliament have it's way, against the Government, but Parliament failed.

He has stopped the two latest attempts to stop Brexit by refusing to chose the amendments.

We need Parliament to prevent a Dictatorship.

Bread Leyen isn't popular with some I know but I think she will try to play fair with the UK.
We gave her sanctuary when her life was threatened by the Baader-Meinhof gang, she adopted an alias and lived in London where she attended the LSE.

There is a lot of negative stuff posted about her and her veiws on Brexit mainly in the left wing press (many are of course anti our leaving the EU anyway and will try to stir the pot when thry can ) , I would rather wait and see what happens if she gets in then listen to them .

If we get a deal there will be no need for Miller to interfere again.

Wrong. Von der leyen starts in her new function on november 1. Ring any bells? That's the date you're out. So no negotiations with von der leyen, unless you have requested, and been granted, an extension. Not by von der leyen, but by juncker, who decides on an extension, since it has to be before october 31.

Parliament should in theory represent the people Swimmy!
Trouble is they have a different oplnion to the people, even
though they asked specifically for the peoples opinion?
That is the crux of the matter, and what complicates it more
is that, of course the rest of the establishment is against the
people as well? So who rules in a democracy, the establishment
or the people???
We need to answer this question in order that everybody knows
what system we will be living under? Or indeed ARE living
under?

Of course each and every decision should be made by the people it concerns. But, that being impractical, the people chose a number out of their midst to make the decisions on their behalf. Now answer me this, do the people give the chosen ones a mandate or do they delegate? The answer to that is crucial,as you well understand.

Hi

Donkeyman, I agree with you we should have been out, we must still Leave.

Stopping Parliament is a huge danger, for the reasons I have posted.

The correct thing to do is an Election and get Farage and Brexit in.

Yes Solly old chap, we elect them because they promise
certain things to us if we vote for them, obviously they
promise things that we beleive will benefit us!
However, the brexit situation is the opposite of this?

well as l what actually went on and is still going on, this is
now a battle between the establishment and the people!

In that case they should follow the refetendum result and leave. The government could have decided on the matter. They were not sure. They asked the people/citizens. In other words, handed back their mandate on this matter. The people made the decision, and government has to execute it.
After the UK is out, the parliament can decide whatever they want, apply again for membership, whatever. But only after you left. (That doesn't imply I don't consider it a stupid thing to). It shouldn't have taken two years to negotiate a deal, because in that period visions, opinions can change. Nevertheless, first you have to leave, then we can see how to proceed.

We are in complete agreement at last Solly !
The only thing l might disagree on is wanting to rejoin again!
After 3yrs of the crap we are still putting up with it would
be imo impossible to return, veven if we got a half decent
deal! Too much damage has been done by all the delays and
shenannigans to dismiss it as if it never happened!
We must use this opportunity to make some major changes
to uk society, not just leaving the eu!

Regards Donkeyman!
