Applying logic to a logic based system is fraught with issues.

That's very true however if it was something like a fast gamma burst then because the GPS satellite s surround the earth not all would be damaged (if any) so it wouldn't be a total wipe out, if a solar flare then the same applies, and in any case if I was driving on the continent when this awful disease allows it then I pretty much know how to get to where I would want to go to based on familiarity and memory!

Sorta goto Brussels, turn right, and carry straight on till morning!

Re: Cartophile

I bought a nice A3 map of Australia to record my trips on. it cost me $16 to $20 (can't remember exactly) but it is just a paper map.

I was walking past the newsagent yesterday where they have a rack of posters for kids and their school work. There were times tables, Solar System, the World and Australia.

Bugger me the map of Australia was bigger than the one I bought, was laminated and had stuff on the back (national anthem, Coat of Arms etc.) I bought one for $9. I can use a white board marker on it too!

The only trouble with those laminated maps is they are a bugger to fold up and put in your rucksack Bruce.... My Dad used to have a linen one of Great Britain where he marked down all the places he cycled, some people couldn't drive that far these days.... I wish I had taken more care of it. And him, come to think of it...
