Stop the nonsense. The end, certainly not.

Technology has moved on since you last had cancer. A proton therapy centre should be opening in the next few months. When do they let you know the results of the biopsy?

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

It should be today or tomorrow-they're hoping it's Hodgkin's lymphoma once more.

I got told that if I stopped all treatment and went home, just didn't bother anymore, I'd have perhaps weeks to live; if I work with them, then possibly years.

Got a face time call from a friend in Oklahoma City this morning, though, and it really cheered me up.

I also visited the Maggis centre part of the hospital which works with positive mental health training - they were all nurses before or other health professionals who now help with positive thinking (which is where I come unstuck - I flip from one thing to another).

Listen that's their opinion based on the current state of play. Bear in mind that cancer treatments are progressing in leaps and bounds. So it's a case of hang in there and the treatment that helps should come along.

It's great your friend had a positive impact. It is no good being isolated as you are. Too much time to worry.

What are you having for lunch.?

Just had it - fish, chips and peas, apple tart with custard.

I'm jealous of the yummy lunch! At least the food is decent. Sounds like a very good hospital.

The food is indeed good; they make it all from scratch.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I've been eating shedloads, not just because of the good food but also the steroid I've been on.

Now awaiting teatime after my radiotherapy, a ham salad tonight.

Am told I can perhaps go home for a day, Sat/Sun night, see how I am, but still don't have the biopsy back yet.

I am told, though, that I am officially flu-free, no more masks for me leaving the ward or staff coming in.
