Neil Lewis, a retired Met Police detective who examined the computer during a 2008 inquiry into government leaks, has now told the BBC he discovered "thousands" of pornographic thumbnail images.

He is my MP you might guess I didn't vote for him, and I don't particularly like the bloke.
But what if porn was found on an office laptop that he used, it is not illegal, so why the furore ?

1 He downloaded it in time we are paying for, with equipment we are paying for when he should have been doing something even more relevant to his job which we are paying him for.
2 He lied about it.

I wonder how many politicians watch porn on their work computer.... I wonder how many would admit to doing so.

I don't know much about him, but seems like a desperate strategy to get rid of him and further weaken an already weak government. Something we don't need right now.

If it's not illegal then there is no problem. I won't moralise about someone's sexual peccadillos if they are legal.

I doubt it. I know I don't ! No-one is switched on to their job for every second of every minute they are in their employed status. It isn't humanly possible!

Substitute 'politicians' for 'people'

Porn is a billion dollar industry. It takes more than a few politicians to generate that sort of money.

It seems to me that some disgruntled ex policeman has breached a person's confidentiality by disclosing the legal content on a computer.

I don't think for a moment Green spent his days browsing porn sites . I understand the computer was in an office used by a number of people who could have used it to view porn, the content could even have been planted there .

Yet again we are having trial by media and the thread starter is indulging in his daily dose of spite ..

It seems to me it's more than just a personal vendetta. Why the other policeman was allowed to retain his work notebook amongst his personal possessions and could (legally) show it to a news reporter today is beyond me. In the olden days you'd have to sign the official secrets act. But later you didn't have to because it was all assumed by the law.
