Good morning Silver Tabby and OFF members from a very cold SA.

Temperatures expected to drop to -2 tonight and wait for it, -4 on Saturday night

When I woke up this morning I noticed frost on my pool cover. (See pic - not like the cold you guys experience up North but we’re certainly not used to cold weather conditions).

Frost the closest to ice in this part of SA since conditions have to be just perfect for snow to fall which last occurred in 2012 people.

Enough with the weather! It’s yet another WFH day for me.

Hi

Got rid of loads of stuff then, but still loads left.

My two have absolutely no interest in memories of their childhood, so loads to be disposed of.

Fishing was my big thing, still have a container full of stuff from that and the kids stuff.

It needs emptying and selling on.

Far, far, better to have everything sorted and leave the kids with nothing to do.

Good morning everyone! Summer, i can only add to the good wishes for your daughter, and hope she gets better really quickly!

Last night was horrible to sleep in. The neighbour next door to me decided to play Coldplay on his keyboard relentlessly until well past 2am, and there were drunk people shouting encouragement to him from the street.
However, its cooler this morning, so aim to get everything done by lunchtime, then hide from the potential 27 degrees that will hit later.

Sorry to hear that Summer and know 1st hand how you are feeling.
Moving can be a stressful time in it'self. close ones getting sick is just heart wrenching...

We disposed of so much when we made this big move, even our furniture went to the local Charity Shop, set up for people on low incomes.
We had Mahogany tones and here light wood was going to look right...So it is quite normal to purchase what is already in the property. Obviously you have to like it....No regrets.

Good morning everyone, oh lordy it's hot. Last night was so uncomfortable. We have our granddaughter here, she stayed over last night, didn't go to bed till after 9.00 and was still awake at gone 11.00 when I went to bed. Poor little girl reacts badly to heat, gets heat rash/prickly heat, and was itchy all over. Lots of aloe vera, and in the end had the brainwave of getting a cold pack from the freezer (you know, the sort you put in coolboxes) and wrapped in a tea towel for her. That did it! She was asleep in no time then!

Summer I do hope your poor daughter gets through this Covid very soon. Bad enough at any time, but it must be so damn miserable for her in this heat.

Good morning everybody.

I had 6 cool hours sleep on my downstairs camp bed. The temperature is several degrees cooler downstairs so it makes sense to me.

I'm going to leave it there - may use it again tonight if it's as hot .

This morning I'm going a short walk round a local country park followed by pub lunch with my friend Chris.
I have to be back for 2.00pm as I am having a consultation by phone with a specialist about my trochanteric bursitis.

I'm going to request an MRI scan - even if I have to pay for it!
