By pure coincidence, I did my first teaching practice at her old school in 1986 and there was nothing wrong with it. No cracks nor signs of subsidence. Met my wife in 1991.

In the mid to late 1990's, there was a program of refurbishing existing school buildings (and adding new extentions where needed). I know of 3 which were so shoddily done and with the new buildings so unfit for purpose that they all had to be demolished within 10-12 years and completely re-built from the ground up.

I was in the headmaster's study for half of best bitter, thinking last time here I got six of the best.The old georgian building has been turned into a hotel. The bikeshed's gone and there now stands a low-rise extension in the style of early tesco architecture. 😐
