Re: Thunderstorms

It's horrible isn't it ... like a warm wet smothering blanket.

I gather by weekend it'll be much fresher and pleasanter.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Thunderstorms

Just getting a few strikes now, a few miles away.

That radar map I'm watching now, kindly sent to me by Mups, is showing strikes nearby and the fascinating thing is that the sound waves created by each spread out in real time on the map. I can tell Marge just when she'll hear the thunder!

What fun!

I can hardly breathe tonight in this terrible atmosphere.
My poor dogs don't know where to put themselves either.

Surely it's got to change soon?
Same here It did have a quick shower but so little it dried up straight away and just made everything even more humid.

Re: Thunderstorms

It was like having the paperazzi outside my window last night, constant lightning flashes, thunder rumbled first for hours! I heard a bit of rain but everything dry this morning, not even a drop in the bucket!

Re: Thunderstorms

Hi

A very different night here.

We had torrential rain for two hours, a break and then another storm with torrential rain.

The storms were heavy enough to set off car alarms.

Re: Thunderstorms

We had our share of storms between 11 and 2 and Chloe didn't even flinch when thunder shook the house

It is so good to see the effect of a substantial dose of rain on the garden

Re: Thunderstorms

Plenty of rain last night but not a whisper of any thunder or a flash of lightning...

Re: Thunderstorms

I am sure everyone knows the rhyme about Lizzie Borden she of the axe?

Apparently her 'terrible deed' was due to the weather and the humidity I can now understand why
good job I live alone

I’ve never heard that rhyme Meg, so I looked it up....

Lizzie Borden took an axe
and gave her mother forty whacks.
When she saw what she had done,
she gave her father forty-one.
