Re: Brexit: What happens now?

Reading different accounts today it's amazing how many posts there are on different web sites with people stating they feel they made a big mistake voting out and with hindsight would have voted to stay in. Obviously things are not going as they expected, although what they expected I can't begin to imagine.

I notice there is also a petition with over one million signatures already calling for another referendum. Obviously many people quite simply had no idea of what the consequences of coming out were going to be.

Personally I don't understand why, if so many countries are so disenchanted with the EU, that they didn't band together and insist on changes. Surely if they had united in such a way the EU beaurocrats would have had no choice but to get their act together and change things.

Just to point out again that this petition was started in MAY.

The morning after the Referendum it had around 68K sigs.

It came up on my facebook page that day by a couple of friends who wanted to stay in.

So it seems that there was an influx of losers who did not get what they wanted and as normal started throwing their toys out of the pram.

Post #9 and #10 represent just the type of fear tactics that cost Cameron his job. Are we just going to lie there and take anything that is thrown at us,like a cowed dog, of course not. History shows us at our best when confronted by bullies.

No point in name calling or fighting now the decision has been made, we'll just have to get on with things and hope for the best.
Best wishes to all for the future!

Stirring talk indeed, Sir.

However, the Far Right is rising all over the world, not just in Europe, and the stupid are in thrall to the Right Wing media in America too. It's terrifying to see what is happening there as well, with even the possibility of Trump being President, with the alternative of Clinton under the control of Big Money.

It's the youngsters I feel for the most. We have, at a stroke, destroyed their hopes of a bright, peaceful future, with decent education, well paid jobs and hopes of the kind of domestic lives my generation had.

Jubilant Brexitters have obviously not the slightest idea of what they have done and will blame everyone but themselves for the shambles they have made of our country when the chickens start coming home to roost.
I'm going to select a stout piece of rope and a three legged stool after reading that Moreover.....You're not a relative of Lord Haw Haw by any chance are you?

The song set to the music of the Colonel Bogey March springs to mind.

You need to buy a dictionary and a new pair of specs.
