Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Smallest grandson to swimming this morning while Jamie and I walked the dog along the river in Builth. Then a spot of lunch in Burger King (!) listening to rally cars touring the showground.

We seem to be awash with poppies atm. WonderWool (big knitting, sewing, weaving etc. exhibition held on the Royal Welsh showground in the spring) are planning a curtain of poppies to commemmorate the end of WW I and lots of craft groups and WI's in the area are making them. We're also going to use ours on the altar at next week's Remembrance Service.

Lots of heavy showers this morning-got caught in one earlier.
Lots of fireworks last night,my dog being deaf was okay with the noise.
Son and his new lady are coming for lunch later.
Have a good day.

I'm going to bring up the problems with fire alarms so see if anyone has any ideas

Just to let you know that I'm still here! It's cool but largely dry here in Gower. There were lots of bangs from the organised fireworks on the green last night.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Hello . The fire alarm was on the agenda in the meeting yesterday . They said that we must all leave the building and go to the fire point at the bottom of car park and stay there until given the all clear . They said that they were worried about me putting myself in danger by phoning handiman and then going down to the foyer and checking where the fire was etc . So in future I must leave the building by the door outside my flat and then stay outside in safety . ?who would phone handiman or 999 There is no phone signal in Caswell and I am one of the few who has a land-line . So I don't think so ??? How could I live with myself if I didn't even try ??? I'm MAD xxx

That sounds like a lot of box ticking and not much common sense Jac, but perhaps it's better to do as "they" say.

Finished up the accounts for Race Night which involved some head scratching but think it's all done now. Trip to Brecon to bank the cash and take some odds and ends back to Morrisons. I ask you, a 40 odd mile round trip to go to the Bank. Grrr!
