Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Took to car to the garage in Builth first thing to investigate a ?bolt stuck in the rear tyre and a mysterious rattle from the back. Turned out the ?bolt was the head of a screw just stuck in the tread, no problem. I'd had a sudden thought and taken everything out of the boot except shopping bags (i.e. everything that could rattle) - that cured the rattle! Glorious sunshine up here, fog and mist all through the valley to Builth. So glad I don't live in a hole!

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Heavy frost this morning-dog enjoyed rolling on the grass.
Had a new wooden gate put up yesterday.Pleased with the job they did, trouble is it needs painting-might start doing it today or might not!
A lovely Christmas tree in the church grounds opposite was lit up for the first time last night.Lots of houses have already put up their decorations.I think it's too soon yet.
Stay safe.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Seems to be the thing to do, put the Christmas decorations up! I 'm resisting at least until December. But I did clean the brass this morning. Big event, don't know when it was last done. Next effort will be Granny's silver tray that the glasses stand on. For all the use they have these days I might just as well put them in the cupboard...................

Back to the rain today.
Did start to paint the new gate yesterday afternoon but didn't finish it,I was starting to feel the cold so I stopped! Will do the rest the next dry day we have.
No plans this weekend. Will watch the rugby this afternoon, the hwyl has gone from the game and it's not the same without the crowd there.
Stay safe.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Wow! Congratulations Great Great Granny. Love the name.

Popped down to Hay this morning for some milk and a paper and got really cold - and wet. Put the heating back on as soon as I arrived home, had a hot cup of tea and read the paper a bit. Feeling better now.

Going to watch the rugby on S4C later, but it's now the same playing in an empty stadium. The players must miss the fans and the singing.
